Reviews:

Jason Solomons, Observer UK: "A blend of boulevard farce, 1970s sex comedy and political satire. Deneuve responds to the challenge magnificently and with a glint of mischief."

Colin Covert, Minneapolis Star Tribune: "It's a cheeky female revenge fantasy that plays out even in the casting."

Rick Groen, Globe & Mail: "The film is worth watching, and the one fabulous reason why can be summed up in two celebrated words: Catherine Deneuve."

It's 1977 and Suzanne (Catherine Deneuve) is the wife of a rich industrialist who is seen only as "une potiche", a trophy wife. When her husband goes away due to poor health, Suzanne steps in to manage the factory. To everyone's surprise, she is a remarkably effective leader and, with the help of a former union leader (Gérard Depardieu), gets the factory running again. But things get complicated when her husband returns, determined to take back his role as head of the company and the household. Delightful, empowering, and charming, this is a French farce with a lot on its mind!
