De père en flic / Father and Guns

Year: 2009
Country: Canada
Director: Émile Gaudreault
Leads: Michel Côté, Louis-José Houde, Rémy Girard
Genre: Comedy
Runtime: 107 minutes
Rating: PG
Language: French
De père en flic features the renowned Quebecoise actor Michel Côté, who starred in 2005's C.R.A.Z.Y. This cop comedy centres on a father-and-son police team who openly despise each other but must find a way to work together when they go undercover to infiltrate a group-therapy camp. De père en flic is entertaining and light, full of inside jokes and clichés of father-son relationships.

As the highest-grossing French-language film ever released in Quebec and Canada, De père en flic is getting the Hollywood treatment. It will be developed and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall, whose previous hits include The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

"De père en flic is a fantastically funny film, and we're excited to be part of the process of getting this story out to as many people as possible," says Kennedy. "We greatly admire the work that went into the movie, and recognize that it will be hard to replicate a creative team like Émile Gaudreault, Ian Lauzon and Denise Robert [and] hope that we can make the English-language adaptation as entertaining and successful as the original has been in Quebec."
